I whip web sites into submission, but I'm nice to everyone else.
My method of looking for a job after graduation was to flip open a phone book and look up all three listings under "web design" on the internet. Advantrics' original web site was an edgy piece of Flash work that made me think, "I want to learn how to do that!" Interestingly enough, it was only about a year later that they asked me to redesign their site. With a new logo and a de-emphasis on custom Flash work, they wanted a simple, slick, and clean HTML-based web site. I created a new design and built out the web site.
Update: Three years later, we redesigned the site again using one of my web site templates.
