College Life

College Life is a Christian organization on the UC Davis campus that I was a part of as an undergraduate. After one initial redesign in 1998, it became obvious that the bloated site had a lot of pages but not much useful content, as the high turnover rate of student leaders resulted in usually irrelevant or outdated information. I did a major overhaul of the site in 2001, simplifying the content to emphasize the most important aspects of the organization. In 2004, I added database-driven functionality to the site to allow the student leaders to easily post announcements and events and updated the site to reflect their new logo.

I used ASP and VBScript to link the Access database to an easy-to-use administrative interface. The posted announcements and events are then displayed on the public site.
