Dating Express & The Royal Groom

Paul King wanted a speed dating site up in less than a month. I happened to have some room in my schedule and worked with him to get a small site up that used PayPal shopping cart buttons and autoresponder code provided by his hosting company. Even with the international time difference (Paul is based in the UK), his fast responses helped to move the project along quickly and I got the site up in almost exactly two weeks!

The Royal Groom, the pub where the speed dating events took place, could only provide some dull exterior photos on short notice. I chose to use a stock photo of an embracing couple as the main focus of the header graphic, and lightened and blurred the shot of the pub for the background. They ended up liking the Dating Express site so much that they asked Paul to have me build a site for them as well. We chose to make the Royal Groom site in a similar style to help the two sites cross-market.
