I whip web sites into submission, but I'm nice to everyone else.
One of my many job descriptions at Advantrics was to design and create web site template designs under the John Galt's Templates brand. Initially focusing on FrontPage templates, we expanded to include HTML and Dreamweaver templates as well. While we did try to expand the brand, ultimately it came down to me building several hundred web site template designs (translating into even more individual products) over the next few years.
I'm proud to say that under my oversight, the John Galt's Templates brand came to be one of the top providers of web site templates, with fresh, professional designs and innovative use of technologies. The quality of these templates are what helped Advantrics to make key partnerships with companies such as Corbis, Jupitermedia, Microsoft .NET, and Crystal Graphics.
JGT was also the place where I began writing tutorials for customers. These eventually expanded into a whole separate site (the FrontPage Learning Center) and extensive support articles at PixelMill.
I continue to create and maintain web site templates under the JGT brand, using the FrontPage, Dreamweaver, and Flash programs and technologies including CSS-based layouts, dynamic-loading Flash movies, and Access database-driven web sites.
